Lockdown has made me think even more about our Environment and the effects we have on mother earth. I have been wanted to move in this direction for a while now and recent times have pushed me forward at a quicker pace.
I refuse to buy products with Plastic in the supermarket, my fruit and veg is only bought loose (not in plastic). I will buy Olive Oil in a glass bottle and refill at our local re-fillable shop in Horsforth (which is amazing for the environment). I have kept previous plastic bottles from shampoo and conditioner and shower gels, again I wash out and re-fill these too so I am not putting plastic into our environment. If any produce is coated in plastic and cannot be avoided I will only buy it if it is re-cyclable, I have come to notice that all cheeses are in plastic coatings that are not re-cyclable so I refuse to buy them now until this changes.
I use natural soaps instead of hand-washes in plastic bottles, I could bore you forever with this but I feel we need to look after Mother Earth so I am trying my best to do this and reduce my carbon footprint. I use TROPIC products and make up, again ‘cruelty free’, ethically sourced, most product packagings are re-fillable and the ones that are not can be recycled. TROPIC are looking to get all their products re-fillable by the end of 2020. My cleaning products run in line with all this too, no nasty chemicals and no footprint.
FOR PEOPLE IN HORSFORTH, JUST A NOTE OF WHERE TO RECYCLE THINGS IN CASE YOU ARE NOT AWARE.
Crisp Packets Womens Aid Charity Shop, New Road Side
Coffee Cups/McDonalds cups etc Starbucks, The Village, Headingley
Toothpaste Tubes/Interdental Sticks/Toothbrushes and Toothbrush heads, – you can pass these to me as Rawdon Dental Practice recycle these.
PLEASE HELP LOOK AFTER OUR ENVIRONMENT 🙂 🙂 Julie
